Supporting Agricultural Showmen and Women

Time Period

The scheme has 2 time periods, as follows –

(A) 1 June 2022 – 30 June 2023; Rent and other Showground expenses to be paid directly to Show Society for eligible Showmen-women* directly from VSG after Forms 1, 2 and 3 are completed.

(B) 1 July 2021 – 31 May 2022; Rent and other Showground expenses to be reimbursed to eligible Showmen-women* from Run Sheets & Tax Invoices, already in the office.

* Eligible Showmen-women

David Littleproud’s office (DAWE – Department of Agriculture, Water & Environment) advises that an eligible Showperson is one that holds an ABN, (Australian Business Number)
Clarification of this is as follows –

The payment must go to an ABN holder.
I am using the scenario of a child of a member operates on family ground at Show under the family name, the ABN relating to that family must be stated and payment goes to the account/person linked to the ABN, as they are operating under the ‘umbrella’ of the family business.

The criteria to be eligible to receive funds and/or rental through the SASW program is that you must have an ABN therefore, payment can not be made to Showmen and women who do not have an ABN.

 Income

Like the refund scheme, the reimbursements in period B (1 July 2021 – 31 May 2022) will be seen as Income.

Townsville Show

We have already clarified that as this Show chooses not to be affiliated with QCAS and/or Ag Shows Australia, there will probably be no reimbursement (A) or pre-payment for this Show (B)
